Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Agreement") govern your use of the FamilyStar mobile application ("App") and related services ("Service"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by all terms and conditions of this Agreement.
1. Definitions
- "Company" — Skalla Bilişim Teknolojileri.
- "User" — Any individual using the App (parent, child, or caregiver).
- "Parent User" — The account holder, an adult aged 18 or older.
- "Child User" — An individual under 18 using the Service under a parent-created account.
- "Caregiver" — A grandparent, nanny, or teacher who joins via parent invitation (Pro plan).
- "Content" — Tasks, photos, comments, and other data created through the App.
2. Scope of Service
FamilyStar is a gamified family task management app that helps families manage daily tasks, motivate children through positive reinforcement, and strengthen family communication. The Service includes:
- Task creation, assignment, and tracking
- Star points and badge system
- Adventure map and virtual store
- AI-powered task suggestions, meal planner, and family coach (Premium/Pro)
- Live location tracking and safe zones (Premium/Pro)
- Caregiver management and pet tracking (Pro)
- Weekly family reports
3. Account Creation and Responsibilities
3.1 Parent Account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Sign-in is via Google or Apple Sign-In; no passwords are stored.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and currency of your account information.
- You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.
3.2 Child Account
- Child accounts can only be created by a parent or legal guardian.
- The parent is legally responsible for all activities under the child account.
- No email, phone number, or location permission is linked to child accounts.
- Social media sharing, in-app purchases, and AI features are disabled in child mode.
3.3 Caregiver Account (Pro)
- Caregivers can only join via parent invitation.
- Caregivers can only view tasks and child profiles assigned to them.
- Caregivers cannot access payment, AI, or settings features.
4. Subscription Plans and Payment

4.2 Pricing (International)

Prices include applicable taxes. Prices may vary by country as shown in your app store.
4.3 Auto-Renewal and Cancellation
Important: Subscriptions auto-renew. Unless cancelled, your subscription will renew for the same period at the end of the current term and payment will be charged.
- Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account upon purchase confirmation.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- The renewal fee is charged to your account within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Cancellation does not affect your service until the end of the current billing period.
- No refunds are provided for partial periods.
4.4 How to Cancel
- iOS: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > FamilyStar > Cancel Subscription
- Android: Google Play Store > Subscriptions > FamilyStar > Cancel Subscription
Subscription cancellation is managed through your Apple or Google account, not within the app.
4.5 Refund Policy
Refund requests are subject to Apple's or Google's refund policies. For in-app purchase refunds, please contact the respective store's support team.
5. User Conduct
When using the App, you agree to:
- Not access other users' accounts without authorization.
- Not use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- Not upload harmful, inappropriate, offensive, or harassing content.
- Not attempt to compromise the security or functionality of the App.
- Not collect or share other users' personal data without consent.
- Not reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App.
Violation of these rules may result in temporary or permanent suspension of your account.
6. Intellectual Property
- The FamilyStar app, its design, logo, source code, content, and all related intellectual property rights belong to Skalla Bilişim Teknolojileri.
- Users retain their rights to Content they create; however, they grant the Company a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to provide the Service.
- The FamilyStar name, logo, and other trademarks are the exclusive property of the Company.
7. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features
- AI-powered features (task suggestions, meal planner, family coach) are available only on Premium and Pro plans.
- AI responses are general-purpose information and do not constitute medical, legal, or psychological advice.
- AI-generated meal suggestions may include allergy warnings, but users should not rely on them without consulting a healthcare professional for individual health conditions.
- AI data is not used for profiling-based automated decision-making.
8. Location Services
- Live location tracking is available only on Premium and Pro plans, with parental consent.
- Location data is viewable only by family members and is not shared with third parties.
- Location data is real-time and is not stored on servers.
- No location data is collected from child devices.
- Location permission can be revoked at any time through device settings.
9. Service Continuity and Modifications
- The Company reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue the App and Service with or without prior notice.
- Scheduled maintenance and updates will be communicated in advance where possible.
- The Service is not guaranteed to operate uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
FamilyStar is a task management and motivation tool; it does not replace professional childcare, educational counseling, medical, or psychological services.
- The App is provided "as is" and "as available."
- The Company shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages (including data loss, loss of revenue, business interruption) arising from the use of the App, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
- The Company's total liability shall not exceed the subscription fees paid by the user in the preceding 12 months.
- The location feature is provided for safety purposes but depends on GPS accuracy and internet connectivity; it should not be used as the sole safety measure in emergencies.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company, its directors, and employees from all claims, lawsuits, damages, and expenses arising from your breach of this Agreement or unlawful use of the App.
12. Account Termination
- Users may delete their accounts at any time via Settings > Account > Delete My Account, or by emailing support@familision.com.
- The Company may suspend or terminate accounts temporarily or permanently in the event of a breach of this Agreement.
- Account deletion is irreversible. All personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of the request.
- Deleting an account with an active subscription does not automatically cancel the subscription. Users must cancel their subscription separately through Apple or Google.
13. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
- This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey.
- For users in Turkey, the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul shall have jurisdiction.
- Users in the EU/EEA are entitled to the consumer protection provisions of their country of residence.
- In the event of a dispute, amicable resolution shall be sought first; if unsuccessful, the matter may be referred to the competent courts.
14. Force Majeure
The Company shall not be held liable for failure to fulfill its obligations due to force majeure events including but not limited to natural disasters, war, pandemics, government actions, and internet infrastructure outages.
15. Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
16. Changes to Terms
The Company may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be:
- Announced via in-app notification.
- Published on our website.
- Subject to renewed consent where required.
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
